October is National Adopt a Shelter Dog month

In honor of National Adopt A Shelter Dog Month, the Whatcom Humane Society is offering special promotions in October.
All adopted dogs will receive a toy and a $10 gift certificate from Pet Stop in Sehome Village, said Laura Clark, community outreach director of the Whatcom Humane Society.
No late fees will be charged on dog licenses purchased or renewed during October, and dogs brought in for a microchip will receive a free toy, Clark said. Microchips costs $20.
Whatcom Humane Society is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
