The second annual Brewers by the Bay event Sunday, July 27, will give beer-lovers a chance to enjoy brews from 26 breweries as well as benefit a local charity.

The Bellingham Bay Rotary Club puts on the event, which will be from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Depot Market Square in downtown Bellingham, club member Steve Brummel said.

Tickets cost $25 and proceeds benefit the Whatcom Hospice House. Tickets are available at Applied Digital Imaging on State Street and also will be sold at the event.

Attendees receive a 4- to 5-ounce tasting glass, five pours of the 56 beers featured, food and live music from four bands, Brummel said.

Brummel said 900 tickets have been sold; he expects about 1,200 to 1,300 people will attend.
