SUDDEN VALLEY - A heart attack caused the death of a Sudden Valley man last weekend, not the crash of his pickup, authorities said Tuesday, July 22.

Thomas A. Frank, 62, suffered a fatal heart attack while driving on Marigold Drive near the Sudden Valley Golf Course on Saturday, July 19.

About 8 a.m., a stricken Frank lost control of his 1998 Ford pickup, which struck a tree. He was pronounced dead at St. Joseph Hospital.

Doctors determined the cause of death was a heart attack. Although the case was forwarded the case to the Whatcom County Medical Examiner's Office, no autopsy will be done because Frank died naturally, Medical Examiner Gary Goldfogel said.
