BELLINGHAM — People who enjoy science, math and art will have the opportunity to combine those interests through a lecture and art show featuring fractals.
Michael Barnsley, a math professor at Australian National University, will lecture Wednesday about fractals and how they relate to Lake Padden.
Barnsley will then have an art exhibit Friday that will display artwork he has created through an invention that fuses math and nature.
The lecture will be at 7 p.m. at Western Washington University’s Science Lecture Hall, Room 120. The art exhibit is from 6 to 8 p.m. at Studio UFO, 301 W. Holly St.
