EVERSON — The Everson Garden Club began building a pergola at the north end of Riverside Park in June.
The club plans to make the three-room timber structure the centerpiece for future planting.
So far, the club has raised $18,000 in donations from the Everson Lions Club Foundation, grants, and various fundraisers and plant sales.
But another $7,000 is needed to cover costs for the $25,000 project.
Cori Litorja, garden club president, said the group hopes to raise the rest of the money Saturday at the Everson/Nooksack Summer Festival, where they’ll have a parade entry, a booth and a silent auction. The festival is this weekend.
