Warning: A swarm of Beetles is expected to roam downtown Bellingham streets Sunday.

It’s the first Bellingham Beetle Rally and food drive hosted by Keith Cox Autobahn, and at least 50 Volkswagen Beetles are expected to participate from 2 to 4 p.m. Planners hope to make it an annual event.

Company owner Keith Cox said anyone who owns a Beetle can attend the rally, and everyone is welcome to enjoy the party and donate to local food banks.

Prizes will be awarded for the oldest and best-decorated Beetles, as well as greatest Beetle pride.

The rally begins and ends at Bellingham High School on Cornwall Avenue. The joy ride will last for 30 to 40 minutes beginning at 2 p.m., after which there will be food, games and a group picture.
