Boat parade to light up Bellingham Bay

BELLINGHAM - The Bellingham Yacht Club's annual Lighted Boat Parade will grace Bellingham Bay on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 4 and 5.

The 2009 parade route will sail past Boulevard Park and the Bellingham Cruise Terminal, through the east entrance of Squalicum Harbor and past all of the harborside restaurants, said Jody Erickson, Bellingham Yacht Club fleet captain.

The parade, part of the Port of Bellingham's Holiday Port Festival, will begin at 6 p.m. Friday and 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Registration for the parade will take place from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on both parade days. Registration is free, but only boats registered Friday will be eligible to receive an award, Erickson said.
