What's closed in Whatcom County on Veterans Day

Government offices, school and banks will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day.

Grocery stores, Bellis Fair, most retail stores and restaurants will be open both days. For places not specifically listed here, call ahead to ensure they are open.

Here is the status of some businesses and services for Wednesday:

Whatcom County and city of Bellingham offices - closed.

Bellingham parking meters - not enforced.

Whatcom County Library and bookmobile - closed.

Bellingham Public Library - closed.

Banks - closed.

Postal Service - No mail delivery.

Whatcom Transportation Authority - All routes will run on normal schedules except no Route 90 (WWU) service.

Garbage (SSC) - regular pickup schedule.

Public schools - closed.

Western Washington University, Whatcom Community College, Bellingham Technical College - closed.

Liquor stores - most open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Movie theaters, video stores - open.
