LUMMI RESERVATION - Lummi Indian Business Council Chairman Henry Cagey was unanimously reelected to a one-year term by the 11 council members, following a general election that put two new faces on the council.

The newcomers are Clifford Cultee, who outpolled Steven Solomon by a 339-to-262-vote margin, and Levi Jefferson, who outpolled Andre Revey 323 votes to 276. In the third race on the Oct. 31 ballot, incumbent Cheryl Sanders overcame a challenge from Sam Cagey Jr., 341 to 263.

Gordon Adams was reelected as council vice-chairman; Sherri Williams replaced Sanders as treasurer; and Jim Wilson was elected secretary. The chairman and other officers are elected to one-year terms by the council following each election. Cagey began his current stint as chairman in 2008 and also held the post from 1991 to 1998.
