BELLINGHAM - City crews expect to turn on a new traffic signal at Chestnut Street and Railroad Avenue on Wednesday, Nov. 4, according to Bellingham Public Works.
Street crews have some finishing work to do in the morning, but they expect to turn on the signal sometime during the day.
The signal replaces a two-way stop, and it's expected to improve and make the intersection safer for vehicles and pedestrians, especially on busy Saturdays during the Farmers Market at the nearby Depot Market Square.
Signs will warn drivers and pedestrians of the change as they approach the intersection from all directions, according to Public Works.
