BLAINE - City Council members on Monday, Oct. 26, will be asked by administration officials to take the statutorily allowed 1 percent property tax increase for 2010.

The increase amounts to 1 cent per $1,000 in assessed value, or $3 for a $300,000 home.

Taking the increase is estimated to bring the city $9,252 in additional general fund revenue, according to agenda documents. The city collected $925,232 in property taxes in 2009.

A public hearing on the property tax levy begins at 7 p.m. in council chambers, City Hall, 344 H St.
