A 25-year-old man was in satisfactory condition at St. Joseph Hospital on Sunday, Sept. 27, after he was struck by a vehicle on Mount Baker Highway earlier that morning.

Chad Garrington of Glacier was walking on Mount Baker Highway near Deming Road about 12:30 a.m. when he was struck by a green Volkswagen, said Washington State Patrol Trooper Keith Leary. Garrington suffered minor injuries and some chest pain, Leary said.

Details about the circumstances of the crash were not immediately available Sunday.

The driver of the Volkswagen, 22-year-old Akeisha Peterson, of Bellingham, will not be facing charges, Leary said.
